The quarterback position sees multiple transfers added. Grayson Wilson (Arkansas) and Mason McKenzie (D2 Saginaw Valley State) will battle it out. Wilson is a redshirt freshman, while McKenzie was the GLIAC Player of the Year at SVSU. The same conference that includes Ferris State and Grand Valley State.
The running back room loses Turbo Richard to Indiana but dipped into the transfer portal for more talent. The additions of Nolan Ray (Maryland) and Evan Dickens (Liberty) are massive. Dickens is a major playmaker, rushing for 1,339 yards and 16 touchdowns last season. Both of those numbers being top 10 nationally.
The wide receiver room returns Jaedn Skeete, Dawson Pough, Johnathan Montague Jr., and stud tight end Kaelan Chudzinski. The additions of Landon Wright (Washington State), Jackson Wade (Florida), Reed Swanson (Colgate), Javarius Green (North Carolina), and tight end Cameron Kossmann (Florida) are massive.
The offensive line returns Michael Crounse, Pape Abdoulaye Sy, Robert Smith IV, and Judah Pruitt. The additions of Trevon Humphrey (North Carolina Central), Kristian Phillips (Michigan State), Veguer Jean-Jumeau (Tennessee State), Reggie Jackson (Jacksonville State), Owen Snively (Eastern Michigan), and Jani Norwood (North Carolina) are absolutely massive.
The defensive line room returns experience in Chris Marable Jr., Onye Nwoisis, Favor Bate, and Micah Amedee. The additions of Kris Jones (Georgia), KJ Sampson (Florida State), Christian Hudson (Colorado), Demetrius Ballard (Buffalo), and Alex DeGrieck (Harvard) are massive.
The linebacker room will feature tons of new faces. The additions of Anthony Palano (Washington State), Justin Medlock (SMU), and Bodie Kahoun (Notre Dame) are absolutely massive.
The secondary returns experience in KP Price, Carter Davis, Max Tucker, TJ Green, Syair Torrence, and Cameron Martinez, among others. The additions of Chandler Jordan (Georgia State) and Kameron Howard (Alabama) help provide even more depth.
Kicker Luca Lombardo was by far the most consistent player on last season’s team, connecting on 16-of-17 field goals. The new punter should be Towson transfer Bryce LaFollette.
Bill O’Brien made a ton of changes to his staff, and this was the most active transfer portal in program history. Mason McKenzie has been compared to Trinidad Chambliss. If that’s who the Eagles get, watch out. Transfers across the board mean this team could need time to gel and grow though.
