Offense
The quarterback position belongs to superstar Trinidad Chambliss. His rise last season was absolutely remarkable. He is the top returning quarterback in the country. Last season he compiled 4,464 total yards and 30 total touchdowns. His leadership and feel for the game set him apart. He showed his ability to win games in the SEC last year.
The running back room returns arguably the nation’s best back in Kewan Lacy. The 1st Team All-American rushed for 1,567 yards and 24 touchdowns last season. The additions of Makhi Frazier (Michigan State), JT Lindsey (LSU), and Joshua Dye (Southern Utah) provide this unit with a ton of depth.
The wide receiver room loses a ton from last season. Deuce Alexander and Caleb Odom have the most returning production. The additions of Isaiah Spencer (Virginia Tech), Cameron Miller (Kentucky), Johntay Cook II (Syracuse), Darrell Gill Jr. (Syracuse), Horatio Fields (Auburn), and several tight ends will all see action.
The offensive line room returns experience in Brycen Sanders, Patrick Kutas, Connor Howes, and Delano Townsend. The additions of Tommy Kinsler IV (Miami), Troy Everett (Oklahoma), Enoch Wangoy (Florida), and Carius Curne (LSU) provide this unit with players that are ready to play right now.
Defense
The defensive line room returns production in Will Echoles, Kam Franklin, and Jamarious Brown. Echoles was an All-American last season with 11.5 tackles for loss and five sacks as a nose tackle. The additions of Jordan Renaud (Alabama), Blake Purchase (Oregon), Jonathan Maldonado (Nevada), Michai Boireau (Florida), and Jehiem Oatis (Colorado) will all play major roles.
The linebacker room features a ton of talented production. Suntarine Perkins returns and has accounted for 179 tackles, 32 tackles for loss, and 18.5 sacks in his career. The additions of Luke Ferrelli (California), Tah’j Butler (Georgia Tech), and Keaton Thomas (Baylor, All-Big 12) are massive. Perkins, Ferrelli, and Thomas may be the best starting linebacking trio in the country.
The secondary returns experience in Antonio Kite, Jaylon Braxton, Ladarion Clardy, and Nick Cull. The additions of Joenel Aguero (Georgia), Sharif Denson (Florida), Jalyn Crawford (Auburn), Edwin Joseph (Florida State), and Tony Mitchell (Mississippi State) will all play significant roles.
Specialists
Kicker Lucas Carneiro will go down in Ole Miss history for his game winner in the Sugar Bowl. He is one of the best in the country. Punter Oscar Bird was outstanding as a freshman. These two are major weapons.

Final Analysis
Pete Golding looked very solid in the three games he coached last season. He needs to continue to be himself and not somebody he isn't to continue that success. With Chambliss, Lacy, and many more back, this could be another special season in Oxford. Saturday, September 19th, get your popcorn ready.
