Alamo Bowl, December 28th, San Antonio, TX; 7:30 PM ET on ABC (Big 12 vs. Former PAC-12 member):

Arizona State has never appeared in the Alamo Bowl and would be the logical choice. However, the Sun Devils would play one of their Big 12 counterparts. Therefore, Washington State, who last appeared in this bowl in 2018 takes the appearance.
Independence Bowl, December 28th, Shreveport, LA; 9:15 PM ET on ESPN (Former PAC-12 member vs. Army):
North Texas vs. Arkansas State
Colorado making the Playoff in my latest projection causes the PAC-12 to vacate this tie-in. The Sun Belt steps in with their back-up agreement and sends Arkansas State, whose 11-0 season that ended without a bowl is the reason the game exists.
These two were conference mates in the Big West and original Sun Belt football members. Arkansas State leads the series 13-8. This would be their first meeting since 2012.

Texas Bowl, December 31st, Houston, TX; 3:30 PM ET on ESPN (SEC vs. Big 12):
Texas A&M vs. TCU
This would be these two former Southwest Conference rivals’ first meeting since the 2001 Gallery Furniture Bowl. Texas A&M leads the series 56-29-7 with a 24-game winning streak in the series. TCU has not beat Texas A&M since 1972.
