Earlier this year Football Scoop's John Brice reported that VMI's defensive coordinator Tom Clark resigned his position. Tom Clark was at VMI for the past seven seasons putting together a stellar defense.

VMI has picked a replacement for Tom Clark in former Tennessee Vols standout linebacker, Nick Reveiz. This means VMI now has two former Vols heading both coordinator positions. As we reported last December, former Vol Patrick Ashford was being promoted to offensive coordinator.

Nick Reveiz is taking a major step up in his coaching career from his current position at Albany State in Georgia. Joining in 2017, Reveiz served as the co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach. In 2021 the Golden Rams advanced to the opening round of the NCAA Division II playoffs.

Before Albany State, Reveiz coached at Carson-Newman in Jefferson City, TN. He spent his first three seasons coaching their backfield and in 2016 took over the linebacker corps.

Reveiz is a former walk-on and three-time All-SEC Academic selection at the University of Tennessee. He played for three different coaches - beginning his career under Phillip Fulmer, a single season with Lane Kiffin and finishing his career under Derek Dooley. During his senior year, Reveiz had 108 tackles and was one of five finalists for the Burlsworth Trophy which recognizes college football's most outstanding player who began their career as a walk-on.
